Supervision and Training

Michael Offers Clinical Supervision for Professional Growth:

As an experienced clinical supervisor, Michael provides guidance to counsellors seeking to enhance their professional skills and navigate the complexities of therapeutic practice. Michael is also providing SOS (Supervision Of Supervision) services to help therapists become certified as a supervisor through BCACC.

Who supervision is for:

  • Early-career RCC/CCC/RMFT/CPC

What non-pathologizing means in my work:

    • Integrate pre-existing talents into counselling practice
    • Develop trauma-informed care competencies
  2. Ethical Practice

    • Implement egalitarian and power-deconstructive approaches
  3. Administrative Proficiency
    • Refine client assessment techniques
    • Improve treatment planning and documentation
    • Enhance overall case management skills

My Unique Value Proposition for Supervisees

Advanced Skill Development in Non-Pathologizing through a series of 3 hour workshops

If you are interested in any of the advanced non-pathologizing workshops listed below please click the link to choose which date works best for you.

Each workshop is $78.75 (GST included). Each workshop is limited to the first 15 people:

Documentation Workshop

Details: In this documentation workshop, we will work from a full first-session transcript to develop a case presentation, treatment plan, and clinical note (using CORE), from a non-pathologizing perspective.

Identity Workshop

Details: In this identity workshop, we will slow down and unpack the identity work demonstrated in the live sessions, coaching you in how to apply it with your own clients. This will include you going through the value exercise.

Translation Workshop

Details: In this translation workshop, we invite you to bring your own modality and favourite interventions and learn how to adapt it into a non-pathologizing framework.

Hearing the Client's "No" Workshop

Details: In this workshop, we will learn how to listen to the two universal narratives, then to listen for the client's "no" before identifying any pathology. We will then learn how to draw out the client's preferred narrative and identity.
